Normal People by Sally Rooney

5.0

I do love this book. Just how amazingly written it is and how deeply we are made to care about these two fundimentally flawed people, which somehow makes them so entirely dysfunctional, but still intertwined.

I find the books lack of closure in its ending frustrating but idk maybe thats the point. Throughout the whole story they go through the same cycle of convincing eachother they want eachother, worrying about something, splitting and being drawn back together

I like to think connell went to new york and they emailed like they did when marianne was in sweden. I dont know what would happen when he came back though, to be honest i imagine theyd split again

However this doesnt change that marianne saved connell from the crushing pressure from how he was percieved and he saved her from herself due to her trauma. They both found happiness because of eachother and i dont think it matters if it ended up with them together or not
