I enjoyed the pacing and spread of character time on this one. It manages to develop more of Shirley and Coe without feeling like River and Louisa are slighted too much. If anyone gets the short straw in this one, it's Rodney, which is funny considering he's the reason it all happens. Well, Catherine doesn't have much to do tbh. I'm very much digging Coe as a character and how fucked up he is (even moreso than the rest of them lol), and I hope he lasts longer than a couple of books.
This is the first of these books that I've read without having seen the TV season first, so it was nice to have all the mysteries be actual mysteries. Now that the first trailer has come out it seems like they've changed quite a bit (including the wholeNorth Korea thing) so I'm curious to see how this will impact my enjoyment of the show.
