Redd may be down but she is not out - she arrives on Earth and meets up with Volwrath who helps her get back to Wonderland and wage a war with Alyss. King Arch is also trying to get Wonderland but finds himself face to face with an old friend Redd. Alyss is trying to settle into her new role and fight her feelings for Dodge.
I liked the sequel to the Looking Glass Wars and find it to be like LOTR that it is more of bridging novel (and that it could not stand on it's own).
