Betrothal or Breakaway
by Leah Brunner
Leah Brunner is my go-to for hockey romances. Her books are precious with all unique voices and I’ve enjoyed every single one. This may be book three of a series, but it holds its own and can be read as a standalone.
Synopsis:
Ford and Amber have been best friends since childhood. After Amber’s engagement ends, she’s left to become a single parent to her three-month-old and figure out how to pay for a heart surgery. Ford steps up to marry her so she can use his insurance.
My Thoughts:
Nothing makes me melt more than a man being adorable with a child that is not biologically his own. And Ford was just making me melt all over the place. I loved his and Amber’s dynamic. This is quite possibly by new favorite of the series. I’m also kinda obsessed with friends to lovers and “that’s my wife” moments. So basically this whole book was everything I’ve ever wanted.
