Bad Hades by Rosemary A. Johns

4.0

I love Rosemary A. Johns. I love the way she writes. I love how she always focusses on her characters and how she allows us in their heads. I love how emotional her writing is. How it's about what the characters feel and less about what they do. I love how she gives characters a unique depth. I love how she tells her stories. There is a plot. It's buried under the personal challenges and quests the characters take. It's worth searching for.

This book is everything I had hoped and wanted it to be and even more. Once more the writing touches something in my heart and refuses to let go. It's impossible to explain Johns' writing. You have to experience it. You have to let your own eyes go over the words and see if they speak to you as they speak to me. Her characters speak from the heart. We experience their emotions and what they feel. We live through their eyes.

In this book the harem is slowly growing. Not just because Autumn tightens the bonds she already formed, but also because the God of the Underworld stumbles upon them and falls in love. The story of Hades is heartbreaking and yet not even that unlikely. It fits what we know about Hades and Persephone. It fits what we know about the cruel Gods and the games they play. It fits what we know about Hades' heart, different from the hearts of his brothers.

I also love how Autumn grows in this book and not just because her Gods are willing to sacrifice whatever they have for her happiness, but also because she understands that love giving freely and wholeheartedly is worth everything. Her story is far from over. Actually, it feels like it has only just begun. Because to get the men she loves, to live the life she wants to live there are a lot of people to break free from clutches and trauma's.

I can't wait to read the next book!
