The Lucky Old Woman by Robin Muller

4.0

I'd completely forgotten this book existed until my little sister started talking about it two Christmases ago, and then I was stymied by being in the US, which, Robin Muller being a Canadian, makes getting his older books difficult. So the first thing I ordered when I moved back to Canada and started working for a library with a decent ILL system was this, and very nice it is to see it again. It's a folktale about an old woman who finds a pot full of gold, and is kind of a fisherman-and-his- wife-type of story, except with a happy ending. Muller's illustrations are (as they always were in the 80s; his more recent stuff is rather different), odd, slightly creepy, and awfully good!
