Spells of Iron & Bone by Sarah Piper

The plot in this one is extremely engaging and it’s nearly impossible to put down. (The narration is a little too fast but you fall into the rapid pace.) But the romance that I look for in RH isn’t there, there’s a metric f*ckton of angst and “I’m falling for you/attracted to you/drawn to you, but it’s a bad idea and I can’t” from all four potential love interests, not to mention the layers upon layers of lies and secrets from the men kept from the heroine.

Honestly if I wasn’t so invested in the plot, I probably wouldn’t continue (since I’m on a romance/RH kick) because I hate liars and secrets, especially in romance novels. But I really like the world the author has built, I’m eager to find out what’s going on with the dark arcana and the potential witch apocalypse.
