The second book did not suffer from chapters that ended in a cliffhanger that cut each other off constantly. I still find that the short chapters and many perspectives are not my cup of tea. I liked this book more than the first. I'm confused though on how the Nebuchadnezzars where able to get to this point while they backstab each other when things don't work out.
