I was very lukewarm on the first book, but I'm glad I came back to this series. Gets so much better. Also, much darker. I even question if I'd still consider it YA at this point. 4.5 stars. The half deduction is for the one twist I saw coming/the other twist that was so out of left field, felt like a jump, but I still loved it all.
