To Flame a Wild Flower

To Flame a Wild Flower by Sarah A Parker: book 3 of the (unfinished) Crystal Bloom Series.
I read this all throughout vacation and I definitely liked it more than book 2 but it had a slow start. I couldn’t get into it until 25% but it’s because the writing is too descriptive for my liking. I don’t need a dozen pages on a characters emotions- it’s not for me. But ugh the last half! And the ending!
I just didn’t like how Orlaith still had so much growing to do and didn’t make much progress in the beginning. But she really did become less selfish and her sole reason for nearly all of her actions was to help others no matter what it cost herself (which was not super smart).
Baze and Kai are probably my favorite and most dynamic characters and I love that we’ve gotten to see a lot more of Baze specifically. Also fuck Cainon.
Plot 4/5
Characters 3.5/5
Spice 2.5/5 slowww burn baby
Overall 3.75/5 but I’m very invested in the series
