Dear God. Dear Bones. Dear Yellow. by Noor Hindi

challenging dark emotional informative reflective sad tense fast-paced

5.0

Noor Hindi doesn’t waste time with BS. About craft that panders to western poetry tastes, about performative metaphors. She’s straightforward about how fucked up genocide and all the oppressive systems that make it possible are. Her writing is essential reading for a lot more reasons than that, but if you’re looking for effective activist poetry, check this debut collection out.

Increasingly I’m noticing how important for us to be candid about the fact that we’re all complicit in some way or another in this tangled up BS of colonialism and imperialism. Even if incidentally. Hindi is no nonsense about her intersections and I appreciate the hell out of that.
