They Both Die at the End
by Adam Silvera
I am so conflicted. I might want to make my rating higher. I was sucked in. I love the queer romance. I liked the character development. It pulled at heart strings— I definitely cried. I liked that Mateo bruins the bird and pronounced Rufus’ last name correctly and that Mateo gave away his bike and let Mateo unfold at his own pace.
And I get it. Books about death end in the middle of sentence, right? Maybe I just wanted more. Like they both did. I wanted more out of our side characters (other than the Plutos and Lydia). I wanted more time for our boys to fall in love. And I wanted a second wave of tears reading how Rufus’ and Dahlia’s lives ended.
So 3-4 stars.
