The Book of Queer Prophets: 24 Writers on Sexuality and Religion by Ruth Hunt

hopeful informative inspiring medium-paced

5.0

An intimate revelation of religion and queerness that celebrates queer faith whilst calling faith leaders to action, pointing out the poor actions of those who lead in religious circles, damning the racism within the queer community and the greater colonial impact in both religious and non religious settings.

I thoroughly recommend anyone who wants to stand up for queer rights or has any faith to read. It resonates with me as a queer woman who was brought up in the evangelical Salvation Army and who lost her faith a lobg tine ago. It opens up old wounds but it is needed to move forward.

Faith and queerness is not a binary.
