I feel very complicated about this book. It was very interesting to read. About halfway through it shifted from being about the Children of God to being about the US Army, which itself was interesting to read about because I just don’t know. However, I was maybe disappointed by the way that she critiqued the army. For example, she makes a promise to herself in the book that she won’t begin to hate other people, but I would argue she doesn’t really deeply maintain that promise. But, she’s a good writer and it was definitely an engaging audiobook, it sounds like she’s just had such a difficult life.
