Love & Saffron: A Novel of Friendship, Food, and Love by Kim Fay

3.0

I thought the relationship between Joan and Imogen was really sweet. Their letters were really low stakes but their friendship grew in a natural and compelling way. I cried a lot at the ending.

I found the food discussion kind of hard to relate to. It's interesting to see how our relationships with diverse food has changed since the 60s but the way it was portrayed in the book felt kind of funny to me.
