Did not finish book. Stopped at 35%.

I really need to start finishing more books but this one threw me off from the start. Why did the author name his main character after himself?? First name.. okay, but first AND last? Weird. And the dialogue is so off. Why, as another character clearly needs an exorcism is your reaction “Babe? Are you okay?”*

*that might not be exact but it’s the vibe of the book so
