an absolutely horrific exploration into female rage and ostracism in 1900s rural society, encompassing spirituality and witchcraft alongside it. i will say that this was absolutely not what i was expecting but i did like the outcome. my qualms with the book are that, i do wish the book’s ending was a little better, and the pacing could have used some work. however, i thoroughly enjoyed ada bird’s story.
