A really good book with lots of suspense in the middle

Pros:
- The POV is a fun one (a little boy who doesn't know he's being held captive)
- The mother isn't perfect but her reactions to everything are understandable
- The climax where they escape is emotional

Cons:
- Since the climax occurs near the middle of the book, I have trouble being interested after. What feels like it should be an epilogue drags on quite a bit. It's good, don't get me wrong, and seeing the struggles that come afterwards are great, but I find myself struggling to get through it because the excitement and interest is gone now.
