When I Fell From the Sky by Juliane Koepcke

inspiring reflective slow-paced

3.0

This is a whole lot less of a survival story and a whole lot of a woman's entire life story. Which is fine, but not as I expected. The crash, her time in the jungle, and her subsequent rescue take up a couple of chapters. The rest is the story of her early life before the crash and the life she built after. She's lived an interesting life even apart from the crash, so it did keep me fairly motivated to keep reading, but I didn't pick it up for that. Also it needs a good editing. Early in the book there are entire paragraphs, and in one case several pages, repeated verbatim from previous chapters. I'm not sure what the point of that was but it was tedious to get through. Overall a decent book, just not as advertised.
