The Sandman Vol. 7: Brief Lives by Neil Gaiman

5.0

It’s one of the most linear books of the series so far, but also one of the most inventive, esoteric, and existential. The passage where Destruction and his siblings sit under the sky together and Destruction talks of the fleeting nature of existence was so gorgeous, it felt like a kick in the chest. It’s probably one of my favorite books of the series so far, and is a fascinating exploration of life and continuity, and where all of this might end. Brief lives indeed.
