A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman

5.0

This book was hard for me to get through initially because all Ove does is complain and moan about life. People, places, things all made him grumpier, if that was even possible. I hated that half the book was negativity. I decided to push through and finish to see how it ended, hoping it would get better, but not really expecting anything more out of it. I had spent so much time reading it at this point, that I figured I old it to myself to at least finish it. To my absolute surprise, the book took a wide turn and started showing another side to the grumpy old man. By the end of the book, my heart aches for him. The ending was well-written and I ended up deciding that I actually liked the book. I definitely can understand why it was written the way it was originally now.
