Little Thieves by Margaret Owen

5.0

I adoooored this book! This was just so well-written?? The characters are so vivid, the entire thing feels like the behind-the-scenes of a fairytale, and I was definitely left wanting more by the end of it.

I really hope we learn more about the prefects and the low gods in the sequel because I found them so interesting even though we really only skimmed the surface. I also felt that the representation in this book was really beautifully done for a YA novel - not anywhere close to the heavy-handed pandering I see in adult novels these days (COUGHthelovehypothesisCOUGH).

The story structure in Little Thieves was also impressively tight, so much so that it made me rethink a lot of my own novel's structure. Anyway, I loved it. Can't wait to read Painted Devils!
