challenging dark emotional sad tense medium-paced

This is a succinct account of one teenage boy surviving the holocaust. It's deeply disturbing. It highlights the depravity of human nature from a personal account. It is a book that forces you to wrestle with questions of faith- where is God in times of evil?  Perhaps it's brevity lends to it's power. It will haunt me.
