Murder at The Bookstore by Sue Minix
4.0
3.5 stars
The atmosphere in this book was very well-crafted! It made me feel like I was actually living in the small town where the story takes place. The bookstore had a cozy feel to it, and there was just the right amount of mystery. While it may not be the best book I've ever read, that's alright.
However, my biggest issue with this book is the lack of depth and growth in the characters. The entire book relies heavily on the vibes, and it could have been so much better if the characters had been more original. I'm hoping that in the second and third books, we will see more development and complexity in the characters.
In conclusion, although the book had a charming setting and atmosphere, the lack of character development was a major drawback. It would have been more enjoyable if the characters had been more unique and multidimensional. Hopefully, the next books in the series will delve deeper into the backgrounds of the characters and provide the growth that was missing in this installment.
