Wild Swans: Three Daughters of China by Jung Chang

4.0

Thanks to Arjen for reading this book with me! I've been talking about it with friends and family a lot. I think this is a really important book. The fact that it's banned in China says enough.

This book has a complex story, but is never puzzling, or hard to understand. I did feel like it was pretty slow at some points, with huge chapters, and that's the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars.

It was very hard for me to believe that things like this history of China really happened. That people would do horrible things to each other. I always have a hard time understanding and grasping the idea of doing such things, and that's what makes this an impactful book for me.
