This is a retelling of a Jewish folklore about Baba Yaga.  I am not familiar at all with this folktale so I have no frame of reference for the story.  I thought the story about a house, evil that happened to a town in Russia and a demon that seems to be trying to find the house to be a good story.  I felt empathy for the characters and the last 1/3 I could not put the book down.  Highly recommended.
