This is a book I wanted to read for a long time but I have never gotten around to it. I have a few longtime reading goals, such as reading books by Nobel prize laureates. This book was harder to read than I had anticipated. It mostly depends on how brutal and raw it was and how Morrison wrote about slavery, and I didn't expect it. I'm not sure that I fully understand the book, but I still appreciated the reading experience. Beloved is also a book I will remember and probably think about long after reading it.
