The Chemist
by Stephenie Meyer
DID NOT FINISH
Maybe this is because I was listening to the audiobook, but this book was just so boring. I genuinely respect Stephanie Meyer for taking on a thriller novel of this magnitude, but it just didn't get me. I stopped about six chapters in, and by that point I had so much medical terminology swirling in my head that it made me dizzy. I grew up reading Twilight, and I was floored when I read The Host, which ended up being one of my favorite books for years to follow, but this book just didn't do it for me, even though I really really wanted it to. I think that conceptually, it's a feat of literature, and I did enjoy the obvious research and attention to detail that Meyer put into this, but dang... it didn't have to be such an arduous read.
