Wonderful book, joyful and heartbreaking with a fantastic main character. Amber Appleton is like no other character I've ever encountered, and her story is so worth reading. I didn't expect the devastating plot turn in the middle of the book (which led to some unexpected public crying, in my case), but it was well told, and didn't feel melodramatic or out of place in the story. Wonderful, hopeful ending (that led to a second instance of public crying, but it was totally worth it).
