i think it’s a little ironic that i listened to this as an audiobook (although the narrator was great 10/10)
anyways, i doubt this book needs any introduction. it’s plot was good and i was even gripped in some instances. however something didn’t sit right with me and that’s the portrayal of women. not only are the named women in this book all caricatures of people, but at the end of the book when names of authors are being listed out, but there is not a single female author or poet mentioned. i felt myself frowning as the names kept getting listed. no mary shelley? jane austen or virginia woolf? maybe too modern… what about sappho? and this is showing my own bias that bradbury had as well—almost all the authors were european. idk i just think 50 years ago there was knowledge of these authors readily accessible
all in all though i enjoyed my time just some things bothered me
