And the trend continues! The odd numbered books in this series are just somehow much better than the even numbered ones. Beginning and ending were great fun but I had some slight issues during the middle part. But overall this book was a blast again!

I think this was very much Donuts book. Before that she was mainly just the sidekick. Delivering hilarious one liners and creating lots of great comedic moments but in general just being there for the absurdity of it, if that makes sense. And while that's all still there in this book and probably better than ever she gets a ton of character development on top and it just goes way more in depth which is very much appreciated.

And yeah with this being a more character focussed book that is also very much in line with my previous experiences / ratings of this series, with the more dungeon/mechanics focussed books just feeling much weaker.

I did like most the story lines going on here as well. The
dinosaur
parts for Mongo where hilarious and I also liked the
vampire stuff
and getting to know more about
Prepotente
. The one plot line that just was super uninteresting to me was
the Elf one with Signet and Imogen
. It did lead up to a great final sequence but getting there just felt like a chore which is why this book ends up at 4.5/5 stars.
