AUGH I love this piece. I've read this like a million times but only just discovered it's on Goodreads, so here I am logging it.
It's so fantastic and experimental. "Let's imagine a world that's been subsumed by play. A world where we've removed our fears of death and loss so effectively that the only thing we have to combat is boredom. Let's imagine that the robots we created to explore space for us still love us and want the best for us. Imagine being so far away from everything you love, and still somehow so, so, so close."
I need to lay down. I want to cry. I'll probably do both.
