In the Labyrinth of Drakes by Marie Brennan

5.0

So it turns out this is my favourite book in the series so far! Smart, exciting, and emotional, this book brought all the highlights of the previous memoirs to the forefront and added a much more personal adventure to our hero's extraordinary life.

There was a large amount of action in this book, more than there have been in the past. I also completely loved the setting and the culture presented. I felt like I was transported to another world and on an adventure with Isabella and her companions. The Labyrinth was a particular draw and I honestly wished we could have spent more time there.

Another highlight for me was the relationship between Isabella and Suhail, and its obstacles. It helped Isabella continue to grow and mature as a character. Her ideas involving dragons were truly engaging and thoughtful, and speak of high creativity from the author.

I truly can't get enough of these memoirs and can't wait to see how it ends!
