United: Captured by God's Vision for Diversity by Trillia J. Newbell

4.0

Newbell seems like generally an optimist. A lot of United seemed pretty repetitive, but her thoughts are good. It does seem like Newbell may not have had the most harrowing experiences being black, which is evident in the level of depth of the book, but that shouldn't make her perspective as a Christian writer less significant. However, she does seem to discount herself at points - along the lines of "Some could argue that you don't need a church," but like, fight for what you think, Trillia (esp on the importance of churches. That's pretty basic to mainline Christianity)!
