This was very delightful!!!!
It was my first ever historical romance so I was a little wary. But this set a high bar for any I might read in the future lol. A great cast of characters. So many discussions of gendered expectations. The sex scenes were thoughtfully done and wonderfully queer.
I do think it could’ve been edited down a little more. It didn’t need to be 450 pages, and the pacing varied a lot. And I always wish that romances would give us a little more time to see how things go after the main characters finally get together. But I really really loved it.
thanks to the publisher for a free ARC & audio copy! The accents in the audio made it feel very immersive!
