The premise in this book is good and has a potentially meaningful lesson however the writing itself and how the actual story came about is weak and was not interesting in the least. I've read much better books based on the same sort of idea; the 'brown eyes vs the blue eyes', Jane Elliott's classroom experiment, is one example of prejudice and bigotry. I do understand Jones' experiment was meant to illustrate how easy indoctrination can be and the ultimate damage it can inflict on people willing to fore-go their own sense of individualism, for the overall 'good' of a group, hence, a 'nation'.
