The Accidental Diva by Tia Williams

AN ACCIDENTIAL DIVA
2/5

I really had high hopes for this one, since I absolutely LOVED Seven Days in June! I love Tia Williams’ writing style, but this one lacked the banter from her previous two novels that I’ve read. To be brutally honest, this book had no plot. Billie and Jay were dating, yes, so I was expecting a love story to unfold. What we got instead were side characters that made this book beyond pointless. The “insta love” trope is most definitely not for me! There is also NO WAY you know you love someone you haven’t said more than five words too. Jay’s backstory was the focal point of this novel, and it served no purpose to the overall storyline. At the same time, we barely learned anything about Billie’s family life. Luckily, this was a short book…but definitely not one I’d put on your radar.
