Because I reread this for one specific reason, I don’t feel capable of writing a ‘real’ review -- at least not this time.

After reading Fionnuala’s review, I wanted to see if I’d see what Fionnuala saw. So, as I read, I was thinking of nothing else except confirming (or denying) that Sandy is the novel’s “hidden narrator.” (These are Spark’s own words from a documentary, and not necessarily about any particular book: See the comments under Fionnuala’s review.) Anything I’d say in this space about the narration would be unoriginal, so please read Fionnuala’s review for more on the role of Sandy.

I can say that one thing I noticed is how effectively repetition is used (and in such a short book), and by that I mean repetition of exact dialogue within a few paragraphs. I can also say that what I once thought was a 3-star read (from way before Goodreads) is now at least a 4-star one. Similar to what I wrote of Spark’s [b:The Girls of Slender Means|18214378|The Girls of Slender Means|Muriel Spark|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1374170040l/18214378._SX50_.jpg|976843], I envision it becoming a 5-star read when I read it a third time.
