The Fifth Risk
by Michael Lewis
This is one of the most worrying books about the Trump presidency and explains not only the danger away from the hoopla of Russian interference and the day to day reality show but also the context that brought rise to Trump ie Americans and their often antagonistic relationship to their own government. Here Lewis argues for the good government does and how little that is appreciated. From the weather service to looking after old nuclear weapons, they’re work is frequently vital and ignored. Under Trump a vandalism is occurring that has been prepared for decades and Lewis is precise and convincing un his Totting up of the costs and dangers.
