This book was incredible! We all need an Eddie in our lives! Eddie is well old (around 90), but he lives such a beautiful and optimistic life. He lives with his guinea pig and works at the local charity shop where he saves all of the important and sentimental moments he finds in donations - like old photos, love letters, and old pair of shoes that had his love for written all over them, literally. All the things that are not worth anything monetarily, but were once worth everything to someone. He saves them as a caretaker to the important moments and to give back should anyone regret their loss. All the while he searching for a lost treasure of his own, a heart locket that once belonged to the love of his life even though they couldn’t be together. In fact, they never even kissed. And so at 90, Eddie has never kissed anyone. But then he meets Belle. A young woman who just experienced tremendous loss and when she comes to make a donation, Eddie holds onto the most valuable things hoping she will one day be ready to have them back. Through it all a beautiful friendship blooms and the whole eclectic friend group learns that it never really is too late for love. This story was so good. I adored every quirky character - except maybe Val. 😁 It was a varied group of personalities but they all found common ground in friendship. I couldn’t put it down as I had to see everyday with Eddie that was shared with me. And the ending - happy happy tears. Just LOVED everything about it.
