Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult

I love this author! When a young Amish girl is charged with murdering her baby - after no one knew she was pregnant - a second cousin is called in to defend her and ends up moving in with the family as a bail condition, and so learns a lot about Amish culture and society. Wonderfully told from multiple perspectives, thought-provoking and controversial while also being kind and sensitive, but I'm getting used to Picoult's narrative structure, I think, and so picked the twist quite early on.
