I received an e-ARC from Edelweiss. I wanted to love this book. I'm a teen librarian and I hand books to folks every day. I thought this book was good, but not great.
I didn't really like the fictional book that changed Clara's life, portions of which start every chapter. That isn't a requirement - books affect people differently - but there was so much of the other book in this book that it did dampen things for me. I also thought that Clara's issues weren't entirely worked out. Some of her issues were too quickly solved and the biggest thing that made her doubt herself was really rushed through.
Overall, this is not a bad book about banned books. It wasn't one of my favorites, but that's not to say that it won't be a favorite among some teens.
