Great book! I listened to an audio version while knitting and it had me hooked, pun intended. I was amazed at how the author connected the characters. It was different than all other post-apocalyptic books I've read so far. The tone (one of quiet acceptance in the way things are now) reminded me of Kunstler's World Made by Hand series. The difference was the traveling group, The Orchestra. Usually people in PA novels are trying to find one stable place they can stay. In this one they flip that on its head by traveling from small "town" to "town" like a band of traveling minstrels from days of yore. I enjoyed hearing the characters' backstories. I also thought it quite original that the 300+ people ended up living in the airport, but makes sense for where so many people would have been at the instant the world imploded.

Spoiler:
Learning that Arthur's son had grown up to be the prophet was cruel and yet perfect in how the story came full circle.
