Gah, so good! One of my favourites in the series so far! The story was excellent, complex, and unconventional––one person setting off a ripple effect of chaos and suffering in the otherwise peaceful Courtyard. I loved how so simple a concept turned into a suspenseful adventure with one of the wickedest villains so far. Poor Monty though––that guy just can't catch a break. All the best characters returned in fine form, with Miss Twyla being one of the biggest badasses. There were some truly heart-warming moments, especially with Skippy and the ending (Gah! The ending!!!), and the climax was insanely suspenseful. Things are going to get rough for Meg and the Courtyard in the next little while, but she just keeps getting stronger and stronger after every trial. I honestly can't wait to read the next book. This series is just so unique and incredible, I can't recommend it to urban fantasy fans enough!
