Feynman by Jim Ottaviani, Leland Myrick

4.0

This is the first graphic novel I have read and I am really glad I started with this book. The book is a biography of Richard Feynman as told from his point of view. My favorite sections are the ones describing his relationship with his sister Joan, who became an astrophysicist. One anecdote tells about her finding one of Richard's books and writing him asking advice to understand it. His answer is to "start at the beginning and read as far as you can get until you're lost. Then start again at the beginning and keep working through until you can understand the whole book. And that's what she did." There is also a fascinating section toward the end providing a brief explanation of QED (quantum electrodynamics). The drawings really add clarity in this section. Overall I found this book very well done and an enjoyable read.
