An amazing read that follows the journey of Joey, a farm horse that is recruited into the British Military during World War 1. We get to see from the unassuming perspective of our protagonist the multiple dimensions of war without the biases of nationality as he makes and loses friends along the way; trying to survive this horrible part of history. Emotional as it is insightful, this tale has earned the fame that follows its name.
