The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake
by Aimee Bender
Very quirky premise - a 9 year old one day discovers that she can taste the feelings of the people preparing the food she eats. She has to cope with her uniqueness, her changing family dynamics, as well as growing up. I really enjoyed reading about the changing relationship with her father. I did not see much point on the story line regarding her brother tho.
