Did not finish book. Stopped at 38%.

I was a bit on the fence with the romance from the start and also it felt slightly inappropriate? While I enjoyed the writing style and the hinting at something sinister to come. I didn't find myself bothered about finding out what happened. 
Then I saw the comments about it being plagiarized from a Spanish TV show.
