For fans of My Brilliant Friend and other Italian family sagas, this is wonderful. Just a bit slow getting starting but an endearing multi-generational story of Italian life in old Italy and the USA. The good, the bad, and all of the passionate Italian lifestyle. Stella will stay with me for a time. (as a bonus with my advance read I received a booklet of seven or eight recipes from the family. what a treat!)
