The Second Deadly Sin by Åsa Larsson
4.0
Fit well into one of my favorite novel types - nordic crime fiction. The formulae is pretty well laid down, quirky detective with issues, doggedly pursues a case while everyone else has it wrong, a few moments of high drama and then the case is solved. The trick is to pull this off well and Ms. Larsson is pretty good at it and is getting better as this series grows. She uses time flashbacks to help build the plot setting an ill fated love story that weaves into the present's murder, She also builds the side characters into believable roles instead of merely placemarks. I look forward to reading more of this series.
